Joy is one of the 9 Rasas, a Sanskrit word meaning both emotion and taste. Yoga and Ayurveda share a sophisticated theory of how emotions can affect the health of your physical body. Positive emotions like joy, even though they are not the ‘goal’ of yoga and should not be confused with yogic enlightenment, can greatly contribute to our health and well-being. The Yoga tradition offers a path of how to experience joy more often without being contrived or inauthentic.

A joyful practice will be included after covering the philosophical context of working with emotion.
